Yadav Community Gotras (यादव)

The Yadav (Ahir) community claims direct descent from King Yadu of the Chandravamsha (Lunar dynasty) and shares the sacred heritage of Lord Krishna. Traditionally associated with cowherding, agriculture, and defense, Yadavs are organized into gotras reflecting both Vedic sage lineages (such as Kashyapa and Atri) and historic territorial khaps/clans. Traditional marriage strictly avoids marrying within the same gotra.

यादव (अहीर) समाज चंद्रवंशी राजा यदु और भगवान श्री कृष्ण की पावन वंशावली से संबंधित है। समाज में कश्यप, अत्रि आदि ऋषि गोत्रों तथा पारंपरिक खाप/कुल गोत्रों की मान्यता है, जिसमें सगोत्र विवाह वर्जित रहता है।
